I think if you were to digest all the information within these sites alone, you would approach your project well informed. Of casue this is not an exhaustive list, it is a list of australian focused information and to our little patch here in Newcastle.
Government Websites
Living Greener offers a comprehensive resource from a consumer point of view. With information on government rebates and assistance.
Your Home website is a great and very comprehensive website of information whether you are a buyer, renovator or designers.
Sustainable Design Resources
This is a paid service, published by the Australian Institute of Architects this is a professional design resource.
Ecospecifier is a good place to start when looking for sustainable building products. It offers a knowledge base of product’s and technical resources for both designers and home owners.
The green building Council of Australia has been setup to promote sustainability within the property industry. Part of doing this is by offering a star rating system for commercial, public and multi-residential buildings. These two links are part of the site that I think offer the most best resources form reader.
Greening your school – ideas and tips of how to go about greening your local school, but also offer support in doing this.
Green Buildings for Tenants – If you have a business or work for a business that is a tenant of a green building or would like to becomes a tenant then this offers the information needed to go about this. This is an attempt to drive the awareness and increase the need for sustainable office and commercial space.
Blogs around design and sustainability living
This is a a locally base blog (Newcastle) from Tricia, blogging their families journy to a simpler and sustainable lifestyle. I enjoy reading this as it reminds my to get my kids outside more and in the dirt discovering the world in a very creative and tactile way.
I would place these blogs in the category of lifestyle, they explores many industrial design, interior designers, art and some food with a spattering of architectural projects to boot.

These two sties purely focus on architecture and interior projects these sites offer great visual information, both drawings and photographs. The stair porn focused exclusively on interesting and beautiful stairs.
Design Focused Shopping
Some of the site mentioned to this point do sell some products, but these two are retail shops, both in the physical sense and virtually (or soon to be in the case of Koskela). Having seen images of the Koskela store and their approach to design and collaboration, this is one place that you will benefit greatly to visit in real life. It is not like your typical big box shopping mall.
